does anyone have tips for making a nice photoshop blend?

i was just wondering… i'm new to photoshop and i was wondering if anyone had any tips for making a good blend. =]

More info needed. There's a "blur" tool in the tool palette that can be applied locally. Also a finger icon "smudge" tool that has different threshhold settings. There is also a gradiant fill tool in the tool palette that shares the bucket tool (hold down your cursor for a couple of seconds on the bucket to make it show up). These are possible definitions of "blend" from all you have given us, that might well apply.

What are good websites that offer a wide range of photoshop tutorials?

I'm a relative newbie to Photoshop. I have no idea what half of the features in Photoshop do. I know simple stuff like how to add a line effect, border, etc. I'm just looking for a good site that can greatly help a beginner and even offer tips and advanced stuff if I get better.

See links below. No matter how hard or long they look, even a beginner should be able to follow the directions.

Be sure to look around their sites to see the other tutorials that may interest you.

Or Google "photoshop tutorial".

What tool can be used in Adobe Photoshop to stretch and enlarge shapes smoothly?

I'm new to Adobe Photoshop, and I'd like to play around with a few pictures but I'm not sure exactly what tools to use.

Can someone tell me how to shape facial characteristics, like enlarge a nose, eyes, ears, or mouth? I'd like to use a tool so that when they are stretched, the surrounding area is formed smoothly with them, so that they do not look out of place or choppy.

If anyone could help explain some possibilities, it would be really appreciated. Thanks.

I think the one of the best tools for doing as you described are those included in the Liquify filter (Filter/Liquify). Specifically the Forward Warp Tool, the Pucker Tool, and the Bloat Tool.

How do you make a straight line or a rectangle shape in adobe photoshop?

I need to know how to make a straight line in adobe photoshop.
I would also like to know how to adjust the opaqueness of the line (make it translucent).

Thanks!

Hold Shift to make a straight line.
And with the shape tool, from the tool bar, you can make… shapes. such as a rectangle.

In the Layer window, check the opacity of the layer of the line- you can scroll left or right to select the desired opaqueness.

OR

When you have the brush tool, on the top you can adjust the opacity for the brush.

I suggest adjusting the opacity in the layer window. but if you just want to paint and you want your strokes to be translucent you can adjust the brush opacity.

How can you tell what version of Adobe Photoshop CS4 being sold?

I am trying to buy Adobe Photoshop CS4 for Windows. The boxes all seem very similar, how can you tell if it is a Full or Upgrade version or Student version? Will it state it clearly on the box and where on the box? I appreciate answers from anybody that truly knows, not just guesses. Thanks in advance.

If you order from a legit site (Adobe.com or any authorized reseller) it will state it in the site info. If you go to a store and buy it, it will be stated on the box. Always make sure to just read all the labels and print info. It WILL definitely identify Windows or Mac version and Full or Upgrade.

How do you use photoshop cs3 vanishing point on other shapes?

Photoshop CS3s vanishing tool is great for things like cubes. But how and can you get it to work on objects such as pyramids, 3d pac man shapes, spheres, etc…? If possible, and link would be great.

Vanishing point only works using planes and not complex 3D surfaces. It simply let's you compensate for perspective when cloning.

In your example it means you could use it on the side of a pyramid (it is flat), but not on the surface of a sphere.

If this is something you have a lot of need for, you should look into the 3D features of Photoshop CS4 extended and maybe some proper 3D applications.
